Like Nabokov says in his opening letter: Bend Sinister may be too clever for most. It’s interesting that it exists, but Nabokov has done better and it’s not for everyone.

Pnin by Vladimir Nabokov [Book Thoughts]

Pnin is a neat little trick; short and deep, sly and funny, just a touch of brilliance. Perhaps it’s unfair to compare it to Nabokov’s best because Pnin is entirely lovable.

Pale Fire by Vladimir Nabokov [Book Thoughts]

Pale Fire might just be a perfect novel, although bizarrely it isn’t one – indeed it has surpassed the novel in form. Along with Lolita, it is the peak of Nabokov’s writing prowess.
